| EGEE-DILIGENT-DELOS Training Day in Athens a success |
| The DILIGENT project worked in conjunction with EGEE to organize a joint training event targeted at the DILIGENT and DELOS project participants. This one day event took place on 16 April 2005 in Athens, Greece. More than 30 participants were present from both projects, including DILIGENT's project officer. The main objective of the session was to introduce researchers from domains other than grid, to grid concepts as well as EGEE objectives. The morning session was dedicated to the DELOS Network of Excellence. An introduction to the long-term research agenda in Digital Library research was presented by Yannis Ioannidis, while Heiko Schuldt spoke about the future of DL architecture. Yannis and Heiko are both active participants in DELOS and DILIGENT. EGEE's training team from the National E-Science Centre then introduced EGEE, grid concepts more generally and data preservation. Valeria Ardizzone of INFN conducted an afternoon demonstration of the GILDA testbed.
