| Donatella Castelli will represent DILIGENT at the 2nd International IEEE Symposium in Sardinia |

Donatella Castelli of CNR-ISTI and DILIGENT Scientific Coordinator will represent DILIGENT in the context of Digital Library evolution at the Second International IEEE Symposium in Sardinia, Italy taking place 20-24 June 2005. The theme of this year's symposium is: "Beyond Mass Storage - From Local to Global - Towards Globally Distributed Date to Support Global Collaborative Environments". The goal is to provide a forum to promote interaction between the principal communities that are developing communications, data management and storage technologies, and the major Global Science Communities that rely on current and future technologies to accomplish their missions.
Dr. Castelli will participate on a panel in the morning of Tuesday, June 21st addressing "Digital Library Evolution". She will be accompanied by Yannis Ionnidis, DILIGENT work package leader from the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens. Prof. Ionnidis is participating in the panel as a representative of the DELOS Network of Excellence. On Wednesday, June 22nd, Dr. Fabrizio Gagliardi of CERN, EGEE project Coordinator and DILIGENT Executive Committee member, will address "Managing Distributed Data" in the context of data storage, access and catalogs in gLite.
